Introducing Our Coaches
Austen Ramer -
currently in his first season as Head Coach at Ottawa University, AZ (OUAZ). This is the inaugural year for both the men’s and women’s water polo programs. Ottawa University is located in Surprize, AZ and falls under the governing body of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The NAIA and NCAA cross over on many levels. The NAIA typically governs over smaller private schools, and has less restriction on recruiting practices. OUAZ is a four year liberal arts institution and the only water polo program in the NAIA. They compete against many of the top water polo programs across various conferences in the NCAA. Prior to OUAZ, Austen was the head coach of the Murrieta Valley High School boys and girls programs. He also spent time coaching at Elite Water Polo Club in Murrieta, CA, the University of Texas, the Las Vegas Water Polo Club and several programs across Australia as well.  Austen is also a very decorated water polo goalie. He competed at California Baptist University, in Riverside CA and was named First Team All-American by the AWPCA in 2012. He still holds several records at CBU.
